It works without batteries just fine for my needs. I don't think I will need a headset for this phone. There is no answering machine - and that is a plus. I don't need one. There is no problem with the headset and the speaker phone is really nice. I have had this phone now for 2 months and I am very satisfied with it. I have not used the memory feature yet - don't know if I will.It also has a data port to connect to the PC or laptop so faxes can be sent. I thought I would bite the bullet purchase it and then post it here for others who may be looking for an explicit answer.- The speaker phone works with NO batteries- If you don't put in the batteries, you can't press the speaker phone to get a dial tone. I read several reviews but I could not get a clear answer to the main question I had about this phone. You must lift receiver and then press the speaker phone and dial.- If you put in the batteries then the speaker phone button can be pressed to get the dial tone.Sound quality is A+ both ways.
When people are ill but would like to get patched through to hear the services over the phone (those without internet) I thought it would be nice to see if we could patch the signal straight into this phone and over the lines through the headset jack.I record audio presentations for work all the time -- using some more expensive Panasonic wireless phones with headset jacks, so I thought this would be similar. I'm not sure why, especially since the other Panasonic phones I have work with my existing setup. This is a good basic phone. Unfortunately, nothing I've plugged into that phone headset jack (other than a real headset) seems to work. but I'll keep looking. So, while using the headset jack (which was a deciding factor on the purchase of this unit) was a total bust, the phone itself is really great and delivers on everything else promised. If you need a phone to have on hand for when the power goes out, you can count on this one.The real reason I purchased this phone was because of the name (I'm a huge Panasonic fan when it comes to phones -- I rarely buy anything else), and because of the price (cheap) and the headset jack. I purchased this to replace the old phone in the sound room at church.
You need customer service at Amazon. I am unable to speak with anyone in customer service at your company, the last items I ordered went to the wrong stored address TWICE. No one called to ask for another address, I have no idea if I have been credited for that order and still do no have the second one. What product. I do not recommend your company's services. So my review has nothing to do with the product, but more about the service. I have yet to receive my order. It is awful.
The only flaw that it has is that it does not have a caller ID display. I like this phone because it has a plug in for a headphone which I also purchased from Amazon and I can use it without holding the receiver.
It is perfect for my home office. The mute and hold buttons are also useful. Panasonic Integrated Business Phone (KX-TS105B) This phone has very good sound quality, useful features, and a great price. I particularly appreciate being able to use the speaker phone for on-hook dialing, leaving my hands free while waiting for those long, tedious, recorded messages to finish.
